KABUL, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's Public Health Ministry has registered 22 new COVID-19 positive cases over the past 24 hours in the country, a news letter of the ministry released here on Tuesday said.

According to the news letter, one patient died over the period, bringing the number of COVID-19 related deaths to 1,445 since the outbreak of the virus in February in Afghanistan.

No patient has recovered over the past 24 hours, the news letter asserted.

A total of 32,476 patients out of 39,096 have recovered in Afghanistan, the news letter further said.

Afghan Public Health Minister Ahmad Jawad Osmani has warned of the second wave of the COVID-19 in the country, urging his fellow Afghans to respect the ministry's advices and wear face masks whenever going out of their houses.
