6 killed in car crash in W. Mongolia

ULAN BATOR, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- A car crash killed six people in western Mongolia, according to a release from the country's traffic police on Friday.

The accident occurred on Thursday evening when the car hit a welcoming gate for Nogoonnuur soum of Bayan-Ulgii Province, according to the police.

Among the victims were two children, aged 8 and 15, the police department said, urging drivers to comply with traffic rules to protect themselves and their loved ones.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
