CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, June 24 (PIA) - - Around 2,000 customers benefitted from the Balik-Eskwela Diskwento caravans conducted recently in Bulanao and Dagupan public markets.
Department of Trade and Industry Provincial Director Lino Cungihan said 22 establishments selling school supplies, school uniforms, school bags, school shoes and other school essentials participated in said activities.
Customers enjoyed savings in the forms of percentage discounts (2%-30%) and peso discounts (less Php1.00-Php5.00) bundling aside from freebies and premiums given to "sukis" and bulk sales and to those who brought their eco bags as a way of promoting green consumerism.
This is a way of easing the burden of parents on expenses on school needs, Cungihan said.
The caravan was conducted in partnership with the office s of the City Treasurer and Market Administrator and the concerned barangay local government units.
With the good reviews by customers, traders and other participants, he said the Diskwento Caravan will continue to be conducted in the coming years. (JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
