Police find powerful prescription in Jackson home

There has been renewed speculation about Michael Jackson’s death after a powerful anaesthetic was found in his home.

Investigators have told reporters the sedative, Propofol, was found among a variety of prescription medications at the Jackson mansion.

Propofol is only used in hospitals by trained anaesthesiologists to induce unconsciousness in patients prior to major surgery.

The administration of the drug normally requires a continuous monitoring of the blood pressure, oxygenation and a heart monitor because of the potential cardiac effects.

Jackson died on June 25th after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest.

Toxicology tests from his autopsy are still to be completed and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration has now been brought into the investigation.

Meanwhile, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, a family friend, has said Jackson’s children have no desire to be separated for Michael Jackson’s mother, who has temporary custody.

There have been reports of a looming custody battle between the biological mother of the pop star's eldest son and daughter.

Rowe, who was married to Jackson from 1996 to 1999, told local television on Friday she planned to fight for custody of her two children.

A custody hearing will be heard on July 13th.

Jackson nominated his mother as guardian of his children in his will.
