Obama unlikely to receive stimulus package before inauguration
Kazakhstan News.Net Sunday 4th January, 2009
Congressional leaders in the US say it is unlikely that a major stimulus package will be ready for Barack Obama's signature before he is sworn in as president on January 20th.
Calls for swift action to revive America's sinking economy have been dampened, with legislators from both sides of politics saying the bill will need more time to be reviewed, debated and passed.
The largest economic-stimulus package in US history will require bipartisan agreement for what will cost the US one trillion-dollars.
President-elect Obama has called for massive federal spending to spur job creation in areas such as infrastructure, energy, education and health-care reform.
While Republicans have agreed new initiatives are needed, many have expressed a preference for cutting taxes before entering into a massive spending program.
Congressional Democrats will be unable to force spending bills as they fall just short of the majority that would allow them to get legislation passed without Republican agreement.

Obama unlikely to receive stimulus package before inauguration
I think that while government is belling out big business...who is going to bell out the every day Joe...like me. Who is going to help me keep food on the table, who is going to help me keep the lights and gas on in my home, who is going to help me keep my children and family healthy. The cost of food has risen...supposedly because of gas prices...but gas prices have gone down and food costs haven’t. Government is helping with mortgages...who is helping with rent. Rent has double and tripled in some places..mortgages are going down..rent isn’t. WHO IS GOING TO HELP ME!

stimulus package
If you want to pass a stimulus package do not give the bank and auto manufactures the bail out money, but give it to the home owners how made less them $200,000 last year. give each home owner $200,000. I know the first think I will do is pay off my morage the second will buy a new car. I have given money to the bank and help out the auto industries. Know with the extra money I have each week from my pay check I will be able to support my local business.
