Coalition forces rain bombs on Basra
Kazakhstan News.Net Friday 28th March, 2008
US-led coalition warplanes have carried out bombing missions in the Iraqi city of Basra.
US planes dropped bombs on Shiite militia positions, helping the Iraqi army which had launched a crackdown in the southern city.
Coalition forces have also been providing air support, surveillance and the refuelling of Iraqi helicopters and transport planes.
Meanwhile Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has extended a deadline for Shiite militants in Basra to lay down their weapons.
While Mr Maliki on Wednesday gave militants until the weekend to stop fighting Iraqi forces, he has extended that deadline by more than a week to April 8th.
He has also offered financial rewards for militants who deliver their weapons to specified safe areas.
Mr Maliki is overseeing the fourth day of a military operation against Shiite militants, including forces loyal to the radical Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr.
More than 150 people have been killed so far.

Coalition forces rain bombs on Basra
This is sheer madness on the part of the USA. This war is on Iraqi civilians; and it is only the civilians that are suffering. The chickens need to hurry home and roost in the USA.
Picture in your mind a world without war, without hate. Now,picture the USA attacking that world because peace should not be a lasting thing.
This world has ONE commmon enemy of peace - the caucasion man.

Stupid people like you ARE the biggest enemy of mankind
Well said, you took the words, well almost the same words out of my mouth. The only difference is ignorance, greed, ego and arrogance are human kinds greatest faults. Far more prolific than stupidity as very intelligent people can possess the above. The sad thing is, no matter what is said, we won’t change a thing.

How can a person live in peace in Iraq?
Surely it is not a place for tourists to go and take photos?
How many innocent deaths?
I do hope that another Hiroshima, or Nagasaki will NOT take place to end this conflict?
